Do you feel the purchase price of vehicles is reasonable
NO, NO, NO. I think they are way over priced and it drives me crazy with what you have to pay for a new vehicle.
Even used vehicles are way over priced in my opinion and trying to purchase a used vehicle at most garages here is NUTS!!
You?

I'm not sure what they run up north where you are, but they are WAY overpriced here. Especially the popular ones! Sad thing is as soon as you drive a new car off the lot, you could turn around and drive it back on and they would pay you 3 thousand less than you just paid. Because it is now "used".

Oh yeah....A Car should in my opinion never cost half or even a quarter of what a new house would run...
I work for a Cadillac and Volvo Dealer and most of the '03 vehicles are over $50k.

It's a consumer driven market. If people would just refuse to pay those rediculous prices things might get better. Living in this I've gotta have it now and to heck with debt world we live in I don't think we'll see those prices coming down.
They actually laughed at us when we went looking for a used car quite a few years ago with 3 thousand cash in our pockets. We went elsewhere and spent our money.~*Darlene*~

I worked for Toyota Motor Credit after graduating from the university and I saw the prices that the dealers paid versus the price they were selling the car to the customer. Usually they hiked up the price by about $3k or $4k. The more luxurious the vehicle, the higher the hike. Since I worked for Toyota, I got my Corolla at the manufacturers price and pretty much w/lots of things like cruise control. I am so glad I got it from them. NOw I have equity since I bought it from Toyota itself.

The high price of cars, even a used one, is the reason that I drive a vehicle that is 11 yrs old. It runs well and looks good, so why spend money on a new one?

Did you hear on the news- I think it was last week or the week before, I didn't get all the details- but some guy is suing a car dealership for not honering their own coupons. I guess this dealership put out $200.00 in the local paper- there were no restrictions on the coup like only 1 coup per customer, only good on certain vehicles or whatever.
So this guy went out and bought 200 copies of the paper and went to the dealership with $40,000 in coupons and picked out a $40,000 vehicle and wanted to "pay" for it with the coups and the dealership would not honor it because "no one in their right mind would do something like that".
I hope that guy wins- dealerships screw people over all the time- I think they can afford to give away a $40,000 vehicle.
