Question How old were you when you got your first cc?

Here they now hand out cc when students are in high school and often with no job. We didn't get our first cc until I was around 23. It was a card from Sears.

I was 19 and a sophomore in college. I got three that year -- a store charge card, a Visa and an American Express.
Credit card companies are very aggressive on college campuses. You can be sure that the Visa I got back then is one of my highest credit card balances

I got a store card when I was in my early 20s. Yes, they did have plastic then.

I got my first credit card when I was a freshman in college as a first step to establishing credit. I only used it for emergencies and buying my textbooks. I didn't run my up like so many of my friends did with theirs. I had already had my own checking and savings accounts for years and managed those quite well.

I got a visa card when I was 16 and had a part time job. I also had a store credit card at 16 . I thought it was great.

It was after Jack & I got married so I was about 24. Think it was a Sears card.

I was 18 and got an offer shortly before I went off to college. I definitely didn't have a job at the time I applied (except summer work or part time).

I was 18 and just out of high school. It had a $1000 limit which was maxed within a year and took me 4 years to pay off.

I was 19 I believe. It was a President's Choice Financial Mastercard. I was pretty shocked they gave me one.
