Have you sold anything to bring down your debt?
We don't have much to sell that were not using already. I am looking at selling a gas fireplace we have in the basement that isn't used. If we do, the money will go directly to debt.
Anyone?

Last year I sold about $4,000 of some stock I had gotten from my employer. We had a big credit card bill that was nickle-and-diming us and I got tired of the hassle so just sold the stock and paid a big chunk of the thing. It didn't cover it all, but it helped tremendously. I hated selling the stock, but it felt better getting the card closer to being paid off.
As for selling other things, I look around our place and wonder what we could scrape up if we sold some possessions..... just haven't gotten much past that thinking yet.~~Jean~~

We're thinking about selling the Cadillac we got from my parents. Paul thinks he can get a profit on it over what we paid.

I have some things that I have in the basement that I NEED to get to listing FS at work.
I have a bunkbed frame set. Twin on top, full on bottom, red metal -- no mattresses and a few odds and ends I'm sure. Nothing really substantial. Oh and we now have a 3rd car that we need to sell (maybe $600??) but we need to get that listed as well!

We sold a little computer/notebook/pda type thing that I used to do my exel spreadsheets for work, we got not too bad a price for it too and don't miss it at all so that was ok.
We didn't sell our car but we did take it off the road for 6 months, we could reclaim part of our road tax and we didn't have to pay as much insurance and of course there were no running costs so that saved us a lot of money.
We thought about selling some other stuff but there was nothing that we REALLY wanted to let go of.

The short answer is yes.
The long answer is: We sold our house paid off all our bills and paid for a new house with cash. We are 100% debt free now. We are living in a part of the country we don't really like BUT we are debt free and are going to be able to save money and move back to the west coast someday.

We sold a volkswagon bus that DH was planning on restoring, and he sold a bunch of car parts that he had gotten in a junk box for next to nothing as well as some old car parts that my dad had stored for years. (vintage bmw and volkswagon parts). We are planning on having a garage sale this year too and the proceeds will help to pay down one of our credit cards.

I've sold almost everything that wasn't nailed down to live when we were having financial problems. Well not really everything, but I sold a TON. I'd do it again if I had to.

We also have a gas fireplace we took out when we put in the wood stove. Dh would like to sell it. If it sells the money would go to the cc debt.

We just sold some stuff from our house, our fish tank and our curio cabinet, because we simply did not have room in our house for them. I didn't put the money towards debt though, I put it towards, hmm, not sure. I friviled it away I guess.

Yes, I'm currently selling quilting books, clothing, and other misc. items on Ebay. I plan to list fabric next. Any money I make from the Ebay sales will be going straight to debt.
Over the past 2 days I've sold $50 worth of sewing notions, patterns, and fabric to someone on another site. I am going to put that money toward our CC debt

We sold a gooseneck trailer that we made a payment on every month. The proceeds bought a new set of tires for our truck. We just sold a nissan truck on ebay for $1600!! That will go toward our cc debt. (We are currently doing the snowball method!)

I am going to start listing on Ebay next month. I am getting a digital camera this weekend and I'm listing all the movies have I just don't want anymore. Also SS wants to get rid of some of his Power Ranger things there too.
I'll put all that toward debt.

We have sold some things in the past. The money didn't go to pay off debt, but to keep us from getting more debt.
