well in the long term it will be - it wont come into effect till may
DH had his yearly performance review, he has switched Jobs within the company during the year to a better job but his pay remained the same - anyway during his assessment his boss discovered that DH was on the wrong payscale and should be on 10 -15K more! so his paypacket come pay raise time will be so much more and we can pay these debts off much quicker!.
what a releif!, of course that doesnt help us to get through the next few months which is going to be really tough. Luckily I have all our gifts bought/made throughout the year so that is a load of my mind, things are incredibly tight around here and DH and I had a talk about things - he is starting to come on board out of nessescity. Its both our birthdays this month but we have decided not to go out at all. I have also told him I dont want a birthday present or christmas present off him ( I have already bought his over the year) but he is not comfortable with the thought that I got him something and he wont get me anything - I am okay with the idea - I would rather put that money to debt but he feels bad about it.
but at least we have the pay rise to look forward to next year!

Great news! Too bad the raise isn't retroactive from the time he switched jobs. So happy for you!!

Unfortunatly Tax in Ireland is horrendous - DH is on the high bracket which is 42% ( and we dont get to claim anything back) so that means nearly half of the raise goes in tax but its still FANTASTIC!!!

I will not complain about our taxes anymore. Congratulations on the raise, that is wonderful news.
