    Default Hoping to Consolidate

    I have two large credit cards bills that are mine all mine.....my dh does not pay on them or use them..... since I don't work I have been using all the extra to pay on them. I am cutting them up and have applied for a debt consolidation loan to pay them off. Please send me all the good thingies you have hoping I get the loan. I will know tommrow.

    Part of the bills are shared by my sis so she is/will be helping me pay the loan. It would be alot less each month and a set interest rate. I hope that I get this so that I can get this taken care of and get ahold on these bills.

    I tried this a few years ago. I was able to get a personal loan from People'sbank.com (10.99% APR back in '01) -- but they've since been bought out by another bank.

    And their interest rates are much higher now than before.

    Best of luck- we are getting a home equity loan right now to do the same thing. We were able to get a decent rate from out bank (I think 6%, but could possibly 6.25%, won't know for sure for a couple days- either way, they are both good.) We got offers from several banks using bankrate.com, but out wn local bank gave us the best deal- and they always have in the past, too.
