    Hello everyone, I stumbled onto your forum and you folks are talking my language so I decided to stop by.

    First of all, I don't know who DH is, but he seems to get around pretty good.

    I've got 16K in 1st mortgage debt and 6K in car debt and 1K in consumer CC debt. I'd sure like to get rid of all of them.

    I started with the basics like quitting smoking (115 days now!) and I'm going to sell my car and get a cheapie and pay cash for it and I look forward to watching my insurance bill go way down too.

    Yes, I'm going to make my own 'for sale' sign and I won't buy one from the supermarket.

    My goal is to get rid of my debt so I can work less and volunteer more and do more things that I would like to do. I live in a small condo and I have no dependents so my goal is to economize enough so that I can work three days a week (all in a row) and then start living life in the other 4 days.

    Hey John

    on quitting smoking! My DH has done this a few years ago, but then decided to hide it from me when he started again It was the fact I didn't care if he smokes or not but because I have asthma (I never smoked) that was his reason for quitting since it's better for me!

    All I said is he can smoke but not around me or in the house, SUV, etc. I never said he had to quit!

    He was doing good for the longest time w/o any until he got hurt @ work & had to have arthroscopic knee surgery & still needs to get a hip replacement.

    Smoking also isn't good for his myopic degenneration eye problem but he can't quit again just yet! There's lots of stress @ work right now!
