Default My first Debt Reduction goal in 2006!

I want my credit card paid off by Feb. 13. Which is when the next payment should be due. I already made the Jan. 13 payment. The balance is roughly 228.00. Since I am still unemployed I am giving myself 2 months to do it. I need to come up with an extra 30.00 a week to get this done.

That means if I do not bring in extra money then I need to do other things that will save me 30.00 a week to pay the bill. As the 30.00 comes in each week, I will put the money right on the credit card.

I will update here on a daily/weekly basis how I am doing to achieve my goal. I start on Dec. 26 since the holidays are really over for us. New Year's is very cheap in my house.

Some of the things I am doing to save the extra money:
    1. Sell what I can on the local sales and barter or ebay.- Right now looks like I sold and old computer for 35.00. Really not good for much but parts.

    2. Hang as much laundry as I can. I have to pay 1.00 for each time I use the dryer. So that can add up quick.

    3. Keep my heat low. I am on the budget plan. But last month I was 10.00 below my budget.

    4. Really watch my extra spending.

    5. I have job for the weekend - letting out a neighbors dog. Pays 35.00. (Splitting this with my son)

So doing just 1. and 5. gets me to the extra 30 for the week.

I made $77.50 selling stuff and dog sitting! So I made a payment to the credit card for that amount.

I only have 149.50 left to pay off and Jan. 1 is not even here yet!

So that totally took the amount I have to come up with extra a week WAY down! Now it is about 19.00 extra I need a week to pay this off. WOO HOO!

    I got paid:
17.50 for letting out a dog over the week. 2 times a day (it was 35.00 but I am splitting it with DS)
    40.00 for an old computer
20.00 for a rolling laptop bag.

    LOVE SELLING STUFF!

I may get this paid off way before I planned. Just have to find more stuff to sell on Ebay and the local sales and barter.

Decided to stay in my jammies all day so I do not spend any money. I want to go shopping.

I will throw on some jeans to go let the dog out.

From the above post. This was from selling the computer and dog sitting.

I just sent a 77.50 payment to the credit card. That is what I sold these past few weeks. I also have another 10.00 pending. Once that comes through I will add that on.

I hope to keep cleaning out the stuff here and selling it.

You're doing awesome! I love selling on ebay- I do it every time money gets tight. I've got 2 auction ending today for stuff I bought at goodwill- I'm making $20 profit so far.

I stay in jammies all day sometimes, too, to make sure I don't go out

I did go out today. But I paid cash. So at least I have not added anything on to the CC. My new goal is the only way I can use the CC is IF I can pay the bill in full when it comes. If not then I can not buy it.

I bought a food saver - A small one. for 40.00 reg price. 100. I know this alone is going to stop the waste in this house on food. Also I noticed I will have more space using the food saver in the fridge.

I also got DS a new comforter for his bed. 100.00 on sale for 20.00.

A few Christmas gifts for 5.00 each. Regular price 14.00.

Now it is about 10 min. before 2006 starts. I am going into Jan. as a NO extra spending month. We will only buy groceries and pay bills. DS is getting a haircut but I had the money aside to do it this weekend and the barber was closed.

I think I can pull in at least 25.00 more dollars this month in sales. I have a bunch of weight loss books and cookbooks to sell. We all know Jan. is great for weight loss products.

Tomorrow I will go through those things and see what I can get rid of.
