Credit councelors??
You know those adds where they will reduce your debt and help settle with the credit card company.
Is there a good one or are they all bogus?

I came close to using one, but I didn't want to go to classes or pay THEM extra- I just ended up working a plan out myself. Good luck!

Before I'd use one, I'd check out the debt books at your library, bookstore, and online. You can really get a lot of information online and here at FV. I've found some good links to sites on the web and I've posted a few under Debt Reduction and the Home and Finance section. People here at FV are really good about posting their web finds.
I once paid for a service, and it was o.k., but I really could have done it myself and saved a bunch of money.

We used one that doesn't exist anymore. And we probably paid more than we should have. BUT...I would do it again in those same circumstances. Our situation had been eating at me so much that having someone else make the calls was actually worth it. And we were on a 3 year plan and paid it off in just over 2.
Just check about fees and early paying penalties.

We've never used one. You could probably find just as much info as you needed at Dave Ramsey's website. He also has a couple great books out.
Have any of your friends used one that is close to where you lived and had success. You might want to try asking them as well.
