    yep!

For those who can't I always recommend Dr. Dipstick's site http://home.att.net/~drdipstik/home.htm

aka Dr Dipsticks Temple of Thrifty Motoring.

It's amazing how much power knowing a few simple things about your car brings you (and peace of mind)

No - and I am paying for an oil change on Monday that I wish I could do myself too.

Will definitely check out Dr. Dipstick - thanks for the link.

I know how to add a quart of oil, check it regularly as well as the other vital fluids and my daddy taught me how to drain, flush and fill the radiator. He also taught me how to change a tire. Stop the car, get out, kick the offending tire and look helpless. Some burly truck driver will stop and change it for you... lol (granted this was 30 years ago, we lived in a very small town and I wouldn't recommend it now for obvious reasons.)...

Yes and I know how to check the fluids also. I can change a tire to, but would prefer not to. My father made sure I could do all this when I started driving. That was 26 years ago. I wish I knew how to do a oil change also.

I can add oil, I can change oil, I can change spark plugs and distributor caps and do the tire thing and a few other things. I enjoy fixing things, and wish I knew more, but I don't have anyone to teach me and I don't think cars are things you mess with since you are driving a couple thousand pounds of metal and plastic around. I won't try to fix anything on one if there is a chance it could cause problems.
