Default I HATE BANK OF AMERICA

This is the third time they have done this....

I pay my credit card payments online. I don't have a BOA bank acct, just the credit card. So I pay it online and they take the funds from my credit union acct. Well, this is the 3rd time they have taken out duplicate payments and caused checks to bounce and us to incur nonsufficient funds fees.

AND even after calling them and getting it straightened out it will be another 15 BUSINESS DAYS before we see that money. And even then, it's only going to be the xtra pymt they took out. In order to get the non sufficient funds fees returned we have to send them a copy of our bank statement showing the fees were incurred. That will take another 15 business days at least. I don't know how I'm going to get back the $$ from the places where the check bounced (you know how stores/businesses charge $20 fee for returned checks).

I swear, as soon as they are paid off, I am NEVER using BOA for anything ever again. I can understand one time, but THREE??? Jeesh! I'm never going to get out from under this debt, it seems sometimes.

    Yikes! That's inexcusable.

Sorry they don't seem to realize how they are disrupting your life.

Thanks for sharing your experience -- serves as a "heads up."

wow that's pretty bad. Maybe you should just send them a paper check from now on, to protect yourself from this in the future.

We had similar problems when we used BOA!! This was several years ago, and I will never use them again. I hope you can get it all straightened out and get all of your money back!!

Dave Ramsey says never to let the scum bags (all credit card co.s) access to your checking account for this and other reasons. I'm sorry Heather that this has happened. When it rains is truly pours, eh?

You should never give someone you owe money to access to your account. Cancel the auto-draft immediately and from now on pay with a check. I am sorry you are dealing with this - again.

I would put a stop to them automatically withdrawing payments. I would contact your credit union and put a stop on it and also inform BOA that you are ending the automatic withdraw.

I think they should be responsible for all feew inccurred, but I don't they will see it that way.

Gee... I love Bank of America. It's my favorite credit card. Why? I've found that they have great customer service. I think it is based in America, rather than India. I can actually understand them on the phone. I've never had this happen before. I do online banking, but I'm the one that controls the payment. I do my online banking through my checking account. I use to do automatic payments through another credit card, but I've sense stopped that. I keep very little money in my checking account, so it would be disasterous for me. I've found that if I don't get the answer I want the first time, I just call back and try again. What a mess! I sure hope you get reimbursed for the fees. Hopefully, you'll get the money back faster than 15 days.

When I set up auto pay for my car loan... I had the money taken out of a savings account.

I don't keep a lot of money in my checking account, either.

That's part of the problem though. I'm not on automatic withdrawal. I go in there each month and manually put in the amt and click "send payment". For some reason they keep resubmitting the payment...and it's not that I'm double clicking or anything. One payment went through on Jan 30 and the other on Jan 31. And there's no way I can do that online because they only let you pay 1 online payment every 8 days or something like that.

Either way, I will NOT be using them again. In a couple of weeks dh & I have an appt with Consumer Credit Counselling Services to get our finances in order with this new pay of dh's.
