Murphy's come to town
I recently depleted my e-fund in a move 1/2 way across the country. My SO and I have been renting our new place for the last 3 months.
We just found out the owner wants to sell the townhome we are renting. The owner wants us to go to a month-to-month lease in May (when our current sublease is up.) We're going to spend the next 30 days looking for a new place.
Sigh. My baby e-fund of $500 is going straight down the drain to pay for moving costs/deposits. We'd really wanted to stay in our current location for a couple of years.
Oh, and I took a 25% pay cut when I moved. And about $3k of my current debt was a result of the move I made in January.
Just when things are starting to settle down... Ol' Murphy comes to town.
Thanks for listening.

Hugs to you, it's hard enough just moving without this added stress. Sending good thoughts that you find a WONDERFUL place to live thats less expensive than the current place!

We're here for you. Good luck and God bless.
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”

an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Thanks for all the well wishes. We were out looking today and lucked upon a great place in our current neighborhood.
Hopefully we'll sign the lease soon, and be in by May 1st. I really hope our current landlord will refund our security deposit quickly.

We should be signing the lease tomorrow! YaY.
We're taking in a room mate, on a trial 6 month lease, since the new place is a little more expensive. My SO knows the guy who's renting the room. - The place is 3 levels and has 3br/3ba. Lots of room.
