My first milestone reached...
Since I'm new to all this, I'm normally a lurker. But I come here everyday and read the tips and keep up with everyone's progress. I joined the May challenge and have reached that and it's only May 4th! I can't wait to see what I can put aside by the end of the month. I have been working towards getting the EF built up and have started a change jar. The hardest part has been convincing hubby to tighten the belt and make some changes.
Well, I have finallly convinced him by taking our checking account and making a spreadsheet of where all the money was going. I did it for 6 months back and he was shocked at the amount of money that was just disappearing each month with nothing to show for it. I also put together a spreadsheet of all our debt and how much we owed. That was another eye opener for him. We had a long talk last night and have reached a mutual agreement to work towards getting out of debt. With that obstacle overcome, I think I'm finally on my way.
I'll keep you up to date on my progress as I tackle paying off my first loan.

That is a HUGE milestone! Congrats! So glad your hubby is willing to work with you on this one, that is the biggest hill there is to climb!
Bit by bit you'll get out of debt, one step at a time.
