tax ???
By accident when our last son was born,my dh went to claim one more dependent which would put us at 5 including ourselves. when my dh got his raise last week we found out we were claiming 7. well we put it down to 5 and wholly molly they took out ALOT!!!!
my???- can we legally claim 7? this is a big dent on our weekly take home. i heard you can claim more and i also heard you can't!
btw we live in California (the most expensive place on earth)

You can claim more than you have, but if you claim over 10 then you have to prove you have that many!

You need to look at how it works out at the end of the year. If you claim 7 on the paychecks (and get bigger checks), but then claim the correct 5 on your tax return, you may end up owing a big chunk of money come April 15th.
