    Exclamation NYS residents with children!

I heard about this on the radio and looked it up for you all, hope it can help someone get insurance coverage for their children.

    What is Child Health Plus?

Child Health Plus is a New York State program to help families provide health insurance for their children. Child Health Plus coverage is available through dozens of health plans through New York. This unique program is available even if you have been turned down for public assistance in the past and even if you are working.

I used to get this for my older three (when I only had three) and I was a single (widowed) mom. I paid $9/month per child - which back then was the maximum per child - and they could see their pediatrician they had seen from birth. There was no co-pay for visits, a small (like $2 co-pay) for prescriptions in addition to the monthly premium.

    Definitely a great program!
I think they have one for low-income FAMILIES too, that would include mom & dad in the policy.

They have something similar in Kansas, called Healthwave. Molly is on it, and it has been great, since DH lost the job that provided us with health insurance. No coverage for DH and I, but we are glad Molly is covered.
