How long has is been since you used cc?
I always thought it would be too crazy to cut them up, but we did this about 8-9 months ago and before that we didn't use them for about 5-6 more months. I don't have them anymore, I was just wondering how long it's been since you all used yours and was it an emergency??? I have realized that if I fund the EF I won't need them. It always scared me to cut them up, for the just in case factor...but it was simply too tempting to have that credit.

Actually - it was last Friday. I bought something online and I always use a CC for that - I had a dispute with an online merchant once, and ended up contacting my CC to remove the charge (which they did), so I always use a CC for online purchases now.
I actually use my CC about twice a month - and I always pay off the bill in full.Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06)

I use Amex for everything, almost daily, for my points and to track spending, but I pay it off each month. I would never fully get rid of cards because of hotels, rental cars etc.

hummm for me it would be since last December 2005, since then I haven't used my card and back then NO it wasn't for emergencies it was just frivilous (sp?) spending.

I dont' even own a credit card, never have, thankfully or I think I'd be in trouble! LOL
I have a debit card that I use like credit though because I earn rewards points each time I use it that way and will get free stuff when I have enough points.

I use it twice a month to keep my rate at 0% for the lifetime of the balance. Usually I would charge $0.10 each time at the gas station.

Just last night. We use it often, but pay the balance off at the end of every month.

Today when I went grocery shopping. We rarely use cash and always pay in full every month and earn cash back bonus for using it.

It's been years. We cut up our cc and closed out all our accounts. We've never found the need to have one since.

Two days ago. I bought dd a Christmas gift online. Hard to believe with standard shipping but it arrived today.
I always pay my card in full in fact it won't arrive on my bill until next month but I will pay it online tomorrow when I pay the rest of my bills.

Thanks ladies, wow some of you have such self control. Great job paying it off every month, we used to try to do that..but good intentions are not always realistic. I do wonder how we will ever get a hotel room or plane tickets...but we won't be going anywhere for some time.
