I was so disappointed when they released the details for this credit. My husband buys multi-ride tickets instead of monthly passes because he sometimes works from home and often travels out of town. So he spends $70 a week on public transit, about 3 weeks a month, but can't claim anything.

Dh pays $130 every 2 weeks for the bus to work, I'm going to call and see if that qualifies. The company hires the buses and then the employees pay so I'm not sure if it counts.

I used to use tickets, but now I buy the one month pass for $60/month incl. taxes. I will be saving all of them to claim this year for SURE.

I remember there being a section on this past year's tax return for claiming bus pass fees. I think it also works for those who take the train. It's basically anyone using a transit pass gets credit for it. I only take the train every so often to take the kids to the doctor, which is in the mall next to one of the train stops.

I was disappointed too , to see the details. my husband uses the bus for work, but i guess he can't claim it now as it's a not monthly pass & it doesnt have his name / any dates on it . my husband buys a card with 20 rides on it at a lower price .. disappointing thats for sure.
