What's up with this CitiBank?
Just tried to payoff my Citibank Visa card bill IN FULL and they told me that "for security reasons" I could only pay a min of $1,000.00 and that I would have to wait at least 15 days before I can make another payment.
Seems like 15 days of % for them dosen't it?
Something here just ain't right!

So what are they going to do if you mail them a check for the full amount ? Send it back?

I'm pissed! I may just file a complaint!
Not for nothing but, there is a box there that if you want to pay the bill in full (with the full amount you owe) you click there. (I clicked there cause I wante to pay my bill in full)
Then there is a box that says if you want to pay the minimum click there.
They've got some nerve! Apparently another way for them to pull one of their nasty little tricks on the consumer.

Sorry girls n guys....I ment to initially say that they told me I could only pay a Max of $1,000.00 (but I think you all got the point) Geeze I'm so furious I'm not typing correctly!
If someone wants to pay their bill in full and there is an option there for them to be able to do that then they should be allowed to do so. And how do they have the right to limit how much you pay of your bill anyway?

Oh my GOSH! That would make me livid. Let us know what happens. Maybe you just can't pay it online in full for security reasons? Maybe you have to mail in a check or do a payment over the phone? I hope that's what it is, and not that they just refuse to let you pay it in full, period.
Wow yeah, seriously, update us. I'm fuming for you right now.

Maybe Ani is right, about not letting you pay in full online. I hope you get it figured out!

I just noticed that they have snuck a little clause into their Terms and Conditions that states and I'll quote here "We may impose limitations on the number of payments accepted and the dollar amout of each payment using this method" (the Click-To-Pay)
Then if that is the case they should NOT have an option for you to choose it if you want to pay the total Amount owed.
This reaks! and is VERY unfair to the consumer. So now they get an additional 15 days of Interest out of me! Well, I now know which card I'm burning next.
Ya know It NEVER amazes me the dirty tricks some of these ones will pull.
Girls and Guys BE CAREFUL!

Its called Homeland Security.
Read about it somewhere if you try to pay or do pay a big amount they report you to Homeland Security. You may be a terrorist.
Someone paid their JCPenny or Sears or whatever and that is what they told them....

That's Bull! They are using that as the excuse? GeeZe It's not like I'm paying over $10,000.01 which by the way is the magic number that gets Flagged for taxes and stuff, and then banks are required to report. But you want to pay a $1,300 Visa Bill in Full and they use that as the excuse? Sorry, but it sounds like an excuse they have thought up in order to do this to people that pay their bills in full each month (cause they are not making any $$$ off "the freeloaders" (as we are called)) Sorry, but If they have set a limit, (which that magical number isn't even stated in their Terms and Conditions) the consumer should be notified prior to going to pay their bill and ontop of it then they should not give an option to pay their bill in full. This is just plain wrong I'm sorry.

There can't be any way they can stop you from MAILING the rest that you owe can they???
I would pay the max online then mail the remainder--a week at a 15% of a couple of hundred is better than the full amount at 15%!
I agree it stinks but stay on track, stick to the plan. Yes it has been altered but that is LIFE huh???
Always something.
Don't let them have the satisfaction of getting your hard earned money!
Good luck.

I don't know, this doesn't seem that weird to me. Banks and credit cards keep all sorts of rules and they do keep a watch on an account when something is suddenly different. I'm not even talking about what's fair or not, but this isn't out of the ordinary.
