Recent events have reminded me how we need to be aware of laws and options in advance. We are rarely emotionally equipped to deal with the tasks at hand just after the loss of a loved one. Here is a link from the FTC that can help you plan ahead or at the very least be an informed consumer should the need arise and surprise you.

Thanks Lisa. Good stuff for everyone to read and talk about with their loved ones. Talking & planning now will make sorrowful time later a lot easier to deal with.
Another choice not mentioned is giving your body to science. The way I look at this is that I don't need my body after I am gone & if it helps others learn that is a good thing. The body is treated with respect, cremated free of charge. I have family members who have chosen to do this and have done what they need to do to make sure this is what will happen when they die. http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?I...&subCategoryID= http://www.flatrock.org.nz/topics/ol...death_wish.htm

We have talked about my desire to be an organ donor and for cremation. I have even looked at the cremation urns on the Costco web site. Not really one to leave the job to some one else - lol.
