    Default I'm so broke!

I have to save $100 out of every paycheck for the next 7 weeks (just over $300) to pay the second half of my homeowner's insurance. I'm glad I got all that bargain cereal, because I may have to live on it! So I'm basically having to live on $800 a month for the next two months. Well, not actually, since I used to save $75 a month for it, but I'm still having to save for the NEXT bill, which will be in ten months ($1400).

I sure hope I get this job I applied for...I desperately need the money!

Ouch! I feel your pain. I have to put away $450 each month toward the car insurance .... and that is with clean driving records. Insurance is such a scam.

your kidding me on the insurance right??
I have Pekin/Cotton insurance and we pay like $100 per month to insure all three of our vehicles. 2 have full coverage. We both have prefect driving records.

Good Luck on the job. We are broke right now also, and it's not fun.

Wow! That is a lot. I was balking at our homeowners when it went from 750 to 820. Blah.

$450 for car insurance?! What kind of insurance is that? We have full coverage on my van and just the minimum on DHs car and we pay $78 per month. I can't even fathom paying $450!

I am shocked at the price of your insurance. We have both vehicles fully covered with very high policy limits and it is less than $550 every 6 months. Even when we had the BMW as a thrid car and were insuring all 3 cars with full coverage, it never got over $650 for 6 months.

Anyway back to the original topic, good luck with the job hunt. I hope you are able to find one that is right for you.

I used to think so, too. Until my SO's SUV was stolen two years ago (and recovered as a total loss.)

A year and a half later, his newer SUV was rear ended (totaled that time, too.) Both times, our Allstate agent took good care of my SO. They gave him money for the SUV's on the high side of the Blue Book value.

The latest accident involved 3 vehicles... two of which were insured by Allstate -- so that somehow meant my SO didn't have to pay his deductible. Neither did the other Allstate vehicle... both Allstate drivers had 0% fault in the accident.

An Uninsured driver was responsible for the entire mess.
