    Default Its always something right....

I have been putting off getting new sneakers for months now. I was going to do it this weekend. Dh got paid on Friday. I paid the bills, balance the checkbook, bought food till the first so I could buy new sneakers right? Wrong. The thermostat on the a.c went. I just got the bill. $157. Its been 90 all week so we need the a.c. Then I am driving my car today and look up and realize I am overdue on an oil change. So Monday I will call and make an appt, for that. Dh get paid on the first but I cant buy them then. I have to have the tag renewed on my car ($55) and the water bill will be due. It comes every 3 months and I estimate it at $200 for water, sewer and trash. Maybe I will be able to get new sneakers before the snow flies.

Oh that stinks! We always put ourselves last. Will your feet start to hurt if your sneakers get too worn? (Mine do!)

If you know exactly what size you wear in a favorite brand, would it be any cheaper to find them somewhere like Ebay?

I need new sneaks, too, so I'm hoping that you'll get some good tips on other places to look. I don't usually have good luck with looking for sneakers at the Goodwill.

Have you looked on shoes.com? You can look at their sale shoes and even use a coupon for 35% off. The coupon code is 35OFFSALE (exp. 7/13).

I need a new pair of sneakers too, but keep putting it off too beause something always seems to come first. I think it is about time we put ourselves first!!

Bleh. I know what you mean.

Car insurance payment - finally saved
Vacation fund (to visit family) - finally saved

Just when I think I'm in the clear -- here comes the need for new tires.

Then it'll be a struggle to fund the ROTH.... then the holidays, then another car insurance payment...

Jamie, maybe you can check your car's manual for the recommended number of miles between oil changes...

How often are you changing the oil?

And can you set aside $5 a week (or some amount) toward a new pair of shoes fund?

I hear ya!!! Sneakers aren't generally where I run into the keep putting off problem it's usually bras with me. I wear a really uncommon size so I always have to go to the high dollar places to get them. There just never seems to be the extra money to get them when I need them.

I put off getting dress clothes for work... I hate clothes shopping. I'm tall and it's just obnoxious. By the time I go ahead and go I have to get several items...it adds up...

It does seem like the Mommys and the wives always end up putting ourselves last in line for new anything. I hope that you can eek out the $$$ for your new sneaks soon.

I do that, too. Put off buying things for myself. My parents gift me money and I use it to pay off bills. It makes them mad.

Just when you could see your new sneakers on your feet... something happens. I just hate it when you wait & still can't seem to get the things you need. Guess that's why credit cards seem like a friend sometimes. But don't get discouraged! I like the $5 fund idea Jenna mentioned. That works for me sometimes... putting a few dollars away can add up pretty fast.
