When you fail
I was really disappointed in myself over the weekend. I don't know WHAT got into me but I OVER spent on NUMEROUS things. When I got home I began to cry because what I was so proud of myself doing; I just did the opposite 5 days later. I knew this challenge for me was going to be hard but I never really thought "the little spending" actually adds up to be ALOT over time.
For example: 3 weeks ago, I would ask myself (is this a want, need or just junk). I spent $$$$ on BOGUS crap over the weekend. Spent money like I had it.
Basically what it boils down to; I fell off the wagon and I'm really upset about it.

I dont the same thing. I will set a small weekly goal and then blow it. BDont feel so bad just pull your self up by the boot straps and start over. ITs a new day! Maybe you can return some things.

~I'm sorry. Can you think of any reason you spent too much? Are you stressed about something? If I can figure out what triggered my spending spree's I can avoid that situation in the future. I often spend because I didn't plan well enough. Things like last minute gifts, food items and outfits I knew I needed but didn't make time for. Try not to obsess and blame yourself. Changing into a frugal mindset doesn't happen overnight. It's a bunch of small baby steps. (((HUGS)))~

The problem is/was I didn't "plan". When I get paid on the 30th of this month I can put the $$$ back into the budget since this pay period is my "big check". I need to get back on my "no spending challenges" and just plan meals alot better. I bought things that weren't on my list, etc.
I really didn't splurge on anything for myself; just made bad choices.
I'm back on the band wagon now.... just wanted to own up to my own bad decisions

I think most of us go through this from time to time. Just dust yourself off and hop right back on the wagon.

Are you budgeting in "splurge" money? You have to budget in a little "just to blow" money every once in a while. It keeps you in your budget and still gives you a way to "cheat".

I did too, though what I got was not really crap, but definitely not budgetted at this time. I just started out a new day with the idea to try to tighten back and come out even within a few weeks - and I'll probably make it.

Ya know... I'm new to this and I "NEVER" even thought about budgeting in "splurge money". I'll talk to my husband about this tonight; that way both of us can possibly enjoy spending "a little" like on a movie or etc.
Thanks ladies!

Remember its not how many times you fall off the wagon its how many times you get back on. As long as you get back on " One More time than you fall off your good."
When Thomas Edison was trying to invent the light bulb he didn't fail one thousand times, he successed once!

I think all of us have done that at one time or another. Just remember, you didn't fail for good, you just had a bad day.

I did the same thing with the grocery budget 2 weeks ago. Just draw a line and start over...we all slip and fall now and again. It just makes you normal.
hehehe
Sounds like you can even shuffle the $$ back in to the appropriate areas... Let it go...you're trying... Keep your chin up...we're all here whenever ya need to vent.

I did this too this weekend

Kudos to you for owning up to it and jumping back onto the wagon!!
I second budgeting for "splurge" money. It makes it feel not quite so tight and boring.

I fall off the wagon but I jump right back on. You have made me feel better knowing other people do to.
