Default Do you have a SALE LIST at work?

I love summer-time but summer is expensive for our family (by choice). DD goes to camps but we pay off these costs from our dependent-care flex-spending account at work. The real expense comes from our vacationing since we travel to see family out of the country. Although we buget for some of it, we never have enough funds. So this year, I decided to get proactive.

Two weekends ago, I gathered up some items that we do not use and listed them for sale on our sale list at work. Within 4 days, I had sold 4 items (mostly small appliances) and made $60. Not bad since I don't have a fee to pay like EBAY requires. My new-found wealth went straight to paying down some of our summer debt. Guess I'll be spending my July 4 holiday decluttering some more!

Our sale listserve really rocks!!! People buy and sell services like lawncare or cleaning services, buy and sell items and foods, offer free services (like picking up large items from Home Depot or offering transportation to the city), advertise homes for sale, yard sales, rental property, raffles, charitable events and so on.

Do you have a SALE LIST at work? If not, can you or your computing folks start one?

We have an intranet bulletin board and a real bulletin board in the kitchen where people can post their sale/want items.

Dh works for a large company - second largest employer in our state. They have a company wide internet board called I-net. The employees are allowed to list items for sale and services offered. It is only available for company employees to view. It is mainly for larger items like vehicles, furniture and homes for sale, not smaller items.

    Sorry, pressed enter too quick.

I worked for Synovus in Columbus, GA and we has a "Sale List". I got rid of quite a few things that we had doubles of in our house. It certainly helped make a little spending money.

We don't. I use craigslist quite often, though.
