Default Well we are doing it...

Tomorrow we cancel our cable. Haha.

We got a notice over the weekend that they are raising the price $3 to $48.95. Yeah I don't like cable that much. Plus DH and I were already talking about cutting it down to the basic channels anyway to save money.

I'm keeping the cable internet because we get our $21 a month out of it. I like my internet more then the Tv anyway.

Good for you! With everything going up, its great to find somewhere to cut! Just think of how much you'll save over the next year.

I admit that I miss Lifetime shows & the boys miss Nick - but oh well, we adjusted

We do play on the internet more now

Don't worry, once the shock wears off, you'll do fine with the basic channels -

Good for you. They keep raising the prices and finally you have to ask yourself: is it worth it? Congrats on the decision.

I am sure it won't be long before you don't notice it isn't there.

Sounds like a great decision! And you'll even save some electricity not havin' the TV on as much (or the cable box sucking power 24/7).

We've been Cable-free for many years and find that we are much more productive without it. Good for you!

We only have basic cable. I think it's $17.00 a month.

I've been thinking about it but there is nooooo way that DH will even consider it. I might be able to convince him to drop down in the package we have though. Problem is...NFL is starting soon and we get a much better selection of the games we can watch with the package that we have now. Decisions, decisions!!!

wow.. thats a ridiculous increase in the price. id cut it too if it went up that much. plus, dh and i have gotten into watching shows that we've missed online, so its like free cable/tivo. - we dont do it all that much, because not all tv channels have websites that stream video, and others we've had to download in order to watch, but.. it doesnt cost anything (unless you factor in the cost of the internet)

Wise decision on cutting out the cable tv. I'm finding that more and more you can watch a lot of these television programs online and what you can't watch online you can rent from Netflix.

Good for you. I don't watch that much TV. DH does, however. I don't think he would ever go for that. Of course, I would find it hard to be without my internet.
