Default How can I be sure????

I called to open a new CC today to transfer my balance for 0% for a year (more than enough time to pay it off!) but the terms she offered didn't match what I'd rec'd in the mail. When she told me that she'd "filed" about th descrepency from her record and my mailed offer, she told me that she could not guarantee that there would be no balance transfer fee (which my offer had said), but insyead said that the offer on her computer said 3% of the transfer amount.......... anyway, I told her that if I couldn't get what was promised in the offer, I wanted my application CANCELLED. She tried to persuade me to stay but I kept saying no....... she said okay and we hung up.

How can I be sure that this really WAS cancelled??? I don't want it on my credit as we weren't in agreement over the terms........

Copy the offer, and write a letter reflecting your conversation and the request for cancellation (don't forget to include the date and approximate time of the phone call), cc your state's Attorney General on it, and mail one copy to the company and the other to the AG's office. If they are doing much of this, the AG needs to know to look into fraudulent advertising - and you probably will never evn receive a note of thanks, but at least they are not likely to mess with you again.
