    Default First budget cuts

We have done our first budget cuts...it was so easy. We changed our channel line up on our dish service, we were getting tons of channels each month that we didn't watch, for a saving of $13 a month! I also called our internet provider to see about different plans and we dropped from $34.99 a month to $19.99 a month, and the best part, we still are getting the exact same service...our plan has better rates now, that we never took advantage of getting. We also nixed Netflix for a savings of $16 a month. It may not seem like a month, but it adds up to $528 a year.

It feels good to shave a little off the expenses. I did the same thing about a month ago to our cable and cell phones.

I'm always almost happier that I am getting rid of stuff I don't need than I am with saving the money. Good start! Way to go!

I cut out all extras except my Directv about two years ago, and just got rid of that. I don't miss it much, except that I was used to turning on the t.v. in the morning. Now I listen to a local talk radio program that has news, and it's pretty good.

I am also enjoying the quiet. I never realized, but having all that background noise (t.v. going) all the time was making me more anxious. More relaxing with nothing going on.

People are always shocked when I tell them I don't have caller i.d. They were tending not to leave messages, because they figured I'd check caller i.d. and see who it was, so I changed my answering machine message to say I don't have it, and now they leave messages.

I'm getting more frugal every day...changed most of my light bulbs to flourescent, and am going to start finding ways to reuse water. I'm researching ways to recycle the wastewater that goes down my drains every day for use in my yard.

It feels so good, even the little things, knowing that one day I'll have this all done, and be "the frugal queen!"

We went ahead and cancelled our lawn service too. It was $37.89 four times a year, for a savings of $151.56. We are going to route all of those monthly savings into a seperate savings account, just for emergencies.
