Budget Success!!!
Yeah, yeah, I know I keep harping on that budget website I found, but I just wanted to share my results this month. For the first time I ever, I ended the month paying every one of my bills and having $382 left over!!!! I have absolutely never done that before. I even bought a refrigerator this month.
Here is how it works. At the beginning of the month you add in all of your expected income. Then you are required to divide every single dime of it into different areas, i.e., kids, clothing, mortgate, etc. You break down exactly what you plan to spend in each category and every time you spend money you record it online. Then if you go over in a certain area it turns red and you are forced to switch things around mentally. For example, I went over on my clothing budget so I cut back in my grocery budget. Without having things in front of me in black, white (and red) I have not been able to do this before. I am so excited to set next months budget!

If you are having trouble pulling it together, give it a try!

Interesting. It confirmed what I already knew. We need more income. It requires 43% of our income just for rent (not including utilities). Food is the next big chunk, about 21% of our take home pay. Good thing we don't have any debt.

Bumplett - to delete stuff ( this is the voice of expeience case I did it too) you just put in the amount you are deleting in that category with a minus sign in front of it, for example:
Mortgage: -650
then you enter the expense and it will take away the extra.
Glad you are all getting something out of this too!
