There goes my income.
The lady I babysit for has decided that she'll pay me what she wants, when she wants.
Um, what? In the back of my mind I've known this was coming, the last babysitter she had for her daughter, she screwed her out of the last weeks paycheck, and was bouncing checks on her all the time. She's done that to me too. So I knew it was coming, but I'm still beyond furious. Now, I have $11 to my name, my cell phone bill and my car insurance is due in a month(among a lot of other bills obviously) and my recruitment process is going slow because of the various waivers I need. Anyway, this was pretty much the last thing I needed this week. Im trying to get a job at the truck stop up the street for a 3rd shift cashier. Wish me luck

Good luck with the new job!! I am not sure I would continue to babysit for someone who makes thinks they can pay me what they want, when they want! You might as well volunteer your time to her if she is going to dictate to you what she is going to pay. That would be like walking into a grocery store and telling the manager that I am only giving you $1 for this $4 gallon of milk. I am sure he would tell me to shop elsewhere. (Sorry for the rant, but I hate to see people taken advantage of!)

Have you thought about putting an ad for babysitting on Craig's list?

haha, you have NO idea. the lady is a fruitcake. I told her one day she'll learn to stop burning bridges. Especially when its someone like me that has always taken great care of her daughter, and at times when I did NOT have to, and without asking for extra $. She works retail at JC Penney, and when they do overnight inventory, I keep her. The last time like a month ago it was Sunday night at 5pm until 4pm the next day, and she called at 11am to say her car had died and she didnt know when she'd be able to get to my house, and I said thats fine, she's fine here. She didn't pick her up until 4pm the FOLLOWING day. Didnt ask for extra money, nothing. AND I feed her breakfast lunch and dinner every day, out of my own pocket. Im so furious I cant even explain it. Ive bent over backwards for this woman, and she doesnt care.
Thansk ladies, your responses made me feel better. I love this website.

I'd take a walk and I wouldn't forget to tip off the IRS on my way (presuming you are paying the taxes for yourself of course) Since she does this on a regular basis, she is what is known as a S*umbag so sorry but she has it coming.

I am sorry this is happening to you but I do hope you get the new job but one word of advice "STOP" dont babysit for her anymore unless she pays you upfront and daily.

I'm working on that right now. I've listed a bunch of stuff on craigslist, and I'm having a garage sale Saturday morning. Hopefully that will get me some cash. I'm also borrowing some money from a friend so that I'll have gas money to get to/from a job until I get the first paycheck. I don't like borrowing money, but I really don't have much of a choice right now, so I'll just have to grin and bare it. Anyone want to buy some books? lol
