    Default BEWARE! Credit Card Scam

I just received an automated call from "my" credit card company with an offer to lower my credit card interest rate. If I wanted to accept this call I need to press "1" on my phone. Of course I was interested in lowering my interest rate, so I pressed "1". I had a really bad connection, and before I could find out the details of the offer, we got disconnected. I dug out my CC and called the company back. I told them I was calling about the offer to lower my interest rate, that we had just got disconnected. The lady proceeded to tell me that they would never call and solicate such information and to beware of calls like that; it is a new credit card scam to get your card information. Thank goodness we got cut off.

Give them the date and time that the call came in and they should be able to trace where this scam call originated from.

It's a shame what things people do to get other peoples info, I am glad you got disconnected.

It showed up on my caller ID as "out of area" on the name and "out of area" on the phone number.
