    Smile To be debt free

After being in frugal village for a short time and sorta lurking trying to learn all I could, I finally sat down tonight and figured my debt. To my surprise it isn't as bad as I had imagined it was. Whew. If I start to snowball in Sept, it will only take me app 3-31/2 years to be totally debt free. So I took all my cc except one (has no balance, to be used for emergencies) and cut them up. Sigh. Actually I feel empowered now. Thank you everyone for alloing me to be a part of this awesome group.

    Woo-Hoo!

Now get an emergency fund of cash built up so you can cut up that remaining card....you don't need it!

The main reasons I kept one cc for reserve is for flying and or car rentals. Also, my DD is mentally challenged and at times needs extra items. I can't tell y'all how great I'm feeling cutting up all the other cc's.

Since I now live alone I checked into the Angel Food Ministries and found there is one where I live. Would it be ok for me to join and start using this even though I live alone? It sure would help me out. Alot of my money goes to my DD and her needs so anything would help me.

I understand the one card thing. I haven't found a local bank that will allow a visa debit card, and since I sell on ebay, I need to be abl eto accept CC thru paypal, and can't do that without a CC. But I will be reducing it to a $500 limit in the new year. I figure, if I can't pay cash, I can't afford it in this minute.
