Thread: Paying bills weekly

Yes, checking the due date & what day of the week it is very important. I think the cc & bank is trying to trick consumers.
I notice that I usually receive the statement 7-10 days after the closing date, or the due date is within 10-14 days after I receive the statement. So I start the 1st weekly payment 2 days after the closing date, before I receive the statement.
As for BoA, if we drop off the payment at the bank drop-box, it takes them 5 days to process it, so we go directly to the teller to make payment.
After I made the online payments, WF gives me the expect delivery date, usually is 2 days after, then I go the cc site & verify if the payment has been posted or not.
Can't wait for the day I pay off the sharks.

I use to have the problem where I wasnt sure of when the bills were coming in and then when they did I had to scramble for money, due to our own lack of organization. What we've done for a long time now (which I just love) is we have a list of our bills and we pay the bills whether or not we have received them or not with one of our paychecks. This often results in getting a 0 balance bill or sometimes a bill just a couple of dollars owing. The bills that are always the same you pay that amount. The bills that vary you pay your best educated guess. For example our cable, phone, internet, heat (on equal billing for heat) is always the same so I know the amont to pay and simply pay it. Our hydro bill various usually between $130 & $140 ish each month. I just pay the $140 and whatever little amount is too much is just a cr on the bill and reduces the next months. I just love this way as everything is paid and there is no worry of where the money is going to come from when the bill comes in. Maybe that would help you too?

Wow old thread revisited....Since 2007 I have streamlined my bills into one and its a cc.
I only use it for grocery & gas and the odd misc shopping. I try to pay cash for most but anything over $20'ish goes on to cc and at the end of the week, I transfer the $ over to pay it online. This way its paid before the statement arrives in the mail and the bonus is I still get points
Also, to those who have Saturday due dates - are you not able to call and ask them to move it back one day (Friday) or up two days (Monday)?2012: The Year Of The Purge!
