    Default Called the CC company

I have been trying to reduce my bills and I finally got up the nerve to call my current credit card company and ask them to reduce my APR on my card. They are sending me a form to fill out and then I will send it back and it will be reviewed and a new, lower APR will be assigned. It's based on a lot of different factors, but it will help .

I thought I would share how easy it was to make that first call. I was worried and didn't know what to expect. I feel better and more in control now If you are sitting on the fence and aren't sure what to do, you can always call your current company and see if they can make you a good enough offer to keep you. I thought it would be easier than leaping right into balance transfers without really understanding all the fine print on those card offers.

Hey...that's great news. I know what you mean about feeling more in control when you take action.

Balance transfers can be tricky. They like to charge a percentage of the amount you are transferring and they only last for xx months and then if you are late at all they will jack up the interest rate.

When I had cc debt I did one balance transfer to consolidate my 2 cards into one to make it more simple to payoff. My only advice (not that you asked) is to make sure you can pay it off before the introductory period is up.
