help..we're drowning
We were debt free about two years ago and since then my DH job changed insurances. We couldn't afford $700/mth. insurance (yes, that's right!), so we had to start paying for our own. That has turned into a nightmare. Since then we have gone from pretty good insurance down to major medical paying $233/mth. However, that insurance pays for nothing so every time we go to the doc. or hospital we have to pay for it including a $40 copay. Plus, we had a baby in that time so we have been paying for that delivery, plus all the well baby visits and I have a five year old and so she needs to see a doc. every now and again and if things couldn't get any worse (even though we are happy and consider it a blessing from God) we are pregnant. We are paying for all prenatal visits and so far the delivery to come. Right before all this had happened we bought our first house so we opened some new credit card accounts to establish some good credit and to help us out a little with the new home. Those are now almost maxed out because we can't afford to pay for anything anymore! We buy nothing, go nowhere and are running negative every month. We have recently applied for MiChild for the girls and for the pregnancy but are still waiting to hear from them. Does anyone have any advice?????? Please help...

Is there any type of clinic in your area that provides services based on a sliding scale for different incomes?

Check out your local health department and see what services you can get there. We even have dental care at ours, and free medical. Of course, you have to qualify financially, but it's something you pay for in your taxes.
