    Default ca fires

We've been lucky in our area of Northern San Diego.

This ordeal does reinforce the need for a liquid e-fund, and an emergency evacuation plan.

My thoughts go out to those who're affected by these fires.

We're sitting on the edge of an evacuation area - with our bags packed in the car. We're watching the news and surfing the net for the latest information.

    I'm amazed by two things:
    - those that don't heed the evacuation orders & stay to save their house.
    - the conflicting information - form maps that aren't up to date to a news caster saying you should turn off your a/c and open windows (to save energy) when there's toxins and ash in the air

Best wishes to all, and set up those e-funds!

I have some of my co-workers that had to evacuate. It truly makes us thankful for god's protection. We are not even close to the fires and ash is flying into my house like snow. My daughters games and soccer practice were canceled because air quality is so bad. My son is going to college in uc irvine and the sky was black from the fires over there but they did not cancel class. Our prayers go out to the residents and fire fighters who must really be tired and doing such a dangerous job with the winds.

Glad you've been lucky, and I hope it lasts. I have friends who had to evacuate but have already been let back home. I have others who are still out. I am praying for all of them and all of you FV friends in affected areas.

I just read that they're looking for an arsonist. That's horrible.

They're guessing the Witch Creek Fire was started by arcing power lines that created a spark. No final word, though. The Witch Fire is one of the largest of the many fires burning in the area.

Just got an update tonight from my family. They're alright but could be better...not sure if they've had to evacuate yet.
