    Default October

How'd October go for you guys?

It was my rough month in a while. Our budgeted income was short $300, and our expenses were a little higher.

We still made a $300 profit for the month. But that isn't nearly as good as I wanted it to be.

October went ok for us as I went back to writing everything down because August and September were a total bust. We managed to put 500 extra towards the Nov 1st morgage payment and some in our savings.

Not great. Had to pay $1200 property taxes on the house we're trying to sell. Plus had a big electric bill from that house.

BUT--we got a $155 credit from the cable TV company. It didn't even out as much "extra" as I had to pay, but it helped.

Hmmm.....started off decent, but found I'm horrible at keeping track of how much I'm spending for groceries. And I overspent the grocery challenge. However, I did buy a car for cash, so that's good. And I saved my changed (98% of it anyway); just counted it and have $20.62 in the change jar for October. I put some money into savings at the beginning of the month but I discovered if it's left in my checking account I'll spend. Oh, and one of my envelopes with money in it appears to have been thrown away by a friend. So I had to make up the difference.

I can already tell November is starting rough: gas is going up, and this pay period has quite a bit of my money accounted for. I'll have to keep a close eye on the spending.

Mine was pretty bad - significantly due to parental medical trips. I survivied without incurring any additional debt, however, so I'm fairly pleased with myself about it all.

Our Oct was great. After a not so good sept, we agreed that there should be only absolutely necessary spending in Oct. Boy did that work great! I put and extra 2100 on the mtg and an extra 700 in the EF, so I think we'll do that one again!

October went pretty well. The weather turned cooler, so I'm spending more time in the kitchen -- that right there saves us money! I did spend on 2 new shrubs for the front yard, that I probably could have lived without. But that was my only slip-up!

I'm hoping for a good November.

October started out great but then it turned sour
we are losing $130.00 a week unplanned to health insurance - gotta have it
our landlord change her mind on doing central heat and air and wants the "Free rent" back from september now that she isnt doing it..and now we need oil for heat and hot water..big bummer..short $560 a month and need $1600.00 right now to fix that...found out mom needs chemo..husband bought a laptop for work $105.00 a month..but if i pay it off in november its only $189.00 paid in full - doing that

Found out we have some IRS problems but hopefully once all it done an cleared up we wont owe taxes like we thought for 2006

got an wireless internet card for the laptop $100.00 with a mail in rebate of $100.00

did better on groceries in october and rarely ate out (big change for us)

November looks bleak im trying to to fit all the bills in and have room for groceries, gas, medical, savings, some oil, christmas, eye glasses, thanksgiving and new baby...wish me luck ladies

Our October wasn't too bad ....we had only a few very minor repairs on our rentals....just the normal bill paying ....had to buy dd some clothing as she had outgrown jeans/tops now that the weather has gotten cooler. Went over on my grocery budget, however I did some super stockpiling for winter!!! We saved a good deal of money into savings....I'm really watching what I spend as tax time is coming Dec. 20 and we are supposed to have an increase on our properties according to the valuation and new mill tax here as well...oh joy!!! Take care all, Katy

October was great for us, we paid off a $2700 debt (started end of August), got a full pantry and freezer and we're super stocked with cans, spaghetti, sauces, etc... We still have money left till DH's next paycheck on Thursday so we did good.

Okay although a few bills came back to haunt us at the end of the month- we will try to work with them on that. For the most part- did not have enough money to cover everything so we will be trying to make up for it this month- hopefully November will be a better month (I keep on praying for it!).

Spent about a grand having dental work done. Should be able to PIF before incurring any interest charges.

The ROTH is on the back burner til that c/c is PIF. Managed to stash $200 in the ROTH despite the c/c bill.

I'm looking into either switching jobs, or taking on a second job. I have an interview on Tuesday.

I'm hoping my current job starts offering OT soon. I need to talk with my boss.
