A missing paycheck...
Well.. I did it.
I quit my job today. That should put a strain on our budget, shouldn't it?
But I did it for a reason... I WAS MISERABLE!!!
And also I got a better job closer to home that pays more!!!!! And has better hours!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!
I factored it out already. I will be spending 8% less expenses including vehicle costs. I'll have an 18% raise in income. Overall it adds 30% to my monthly profits (excluding overtime). My wife works there too so we may be able to go down to one car!!! (I can always dream!)
The only trouble is there will be a gap between my first check at the new job and my final check at my old job (plus the lack of direct deposit for the first couple checks). So that time might be a little straining.

tomorrow closes out my first week at the new job and I gotta say things are really looking nice.. here are the benefits:
Have medical, dental, and vision insurance.
I am currently making 50 cents more an hour than my previous job. After 90 days I will be automatically get a $2 an hour raise.
My schedule will be consistent from week to week.
I get paid time and half for working holidays. Plus I get automatic 8 hours pay on top of this. So every holiday I work I get double time and a half!
If I don't use my sick days I get paid for them anyway at the end of the year.
Two weeks paid vacation after a year.
oh.. and here is my favorite:
There is an onsite cafeteria open 24 hours a day. They serve FREE food.. salads, deserts, cereal.. and if I want a hot meal it's $2. Today they had prime rib.. and I only paid $2 for it!!
The only negative is the union dues and I have get licensed by the state for this job.. all together costs $400... which will be taken out of my first 8 paychecks. ($50 a check)
But after 30 days I will be eligible for mandatory regular overtime.

also forgot..
I am going to be responsible for handling large amounts of money and if all my paperwork balances at the end of the month I get a $50 gift card of my choice on top of this (Groceries, Walmart, gas, movie passes)
And if I go 3 months balancing I get another $100 in gift cards..
and on top of this.. if the company overall does better than 97% on our secret shopper scores for a quarter.. we all get at $150 bonus.
This job rules.
