Question about finding out your credit score UPDATED
I know about being able to get your credit report free but when it gets to the point of "do you want your score" and I have to pay they want me agree to a "trial membership" in something or other and won't process the transaction without agreeing. I don't want their trial whatever and can just picture trying to "cancel at any time".
Is there a way to find out without this extra free trial? Thanks for any help!~*Darlene*~

yes, just get the address of the three places and write them yourself. I don't know if they have an online for free. I just look up what they need and send a letter requesting it.

Thanks Tammy! I don't think you should have to pay to see your score but that's the beast. So pay I must, just don't want free trials of things I don't want.
Do they make you sign up for a free trial? Anyone else ever use them?
Sorry to be a pain, it's just that dh is fuming over having to jump thru hoops & he's got a short fuse.

You have to answer some security questions at the end to make sure it's you. If you have changed your name recently or the credit is in your maiden name you may want to try that first. Good luck car shopping. One word of advice: If it's toooo good to be true, then it probably is! Also, ask if they have a return policy, in case you have buyers remorse in the middle of the night the way we did.

Ok, you may have to break down and buy it. It's better to go prepared than face the ocean of sharks - I mean car sales-people that want your money. Perhaps try for a pre-approved loan through your bank first before you head out. When we bought our cars, we ended up getting them refinanced through our bank at a much lower rate. Good Luck!

Crisis over! That link you gave me (Tammy) worked great, no fuss, no big trying to sell me stuff we don't need.

I knew our score was going to be ok & am pleased 782 790 & 799.
We always pay on time, one problem they noted was the balance on the one cc. That we pay in full every month, is used to pay most bills and we get a cash back bonus from it. Oh well. I'm happy
Thanks again everyone!!!
Oh, we started out with our bank & they wanted 7.24%. She asked if we wanted an application, we told her not at that interest rate. I know we can do better than that.

One caution here......
To many request for info on your Credit Score can go against you if
a lender ask for a report later. A yearly report is fine but becareful if you
need a report for loans more than once in a years time.

I have never heard of that before. Now, if you're talking about credit REPORTS, no, pulling your own credit report will not hurt your report as it is a 'soft hit' not a 'hard hit'. Lenders can only see hards, not softs. Too many hards will make your score go down temporarily.
Darlene, glad I could help. Good luck!!
