On-line banking? Yes or No?
Do you bank on-line? I was leery of trying it at first, but now it seems like second nature. I like being able to check my balances at any time day or night, and I like being able to transfer money from one account to another. I especially like the bill pay. It saves me postage money, and is so quick to do. I also don't have to buy checks (or at least not as many).
I know there can be security problems, but I have not run into any (knock on synthetic wood!).
If you bank on-line, what do you see as advantages? Disadvantages? If you don't bank on-line, what are your main concerns?
Please don't give any bank names, or any other information that could compromise your account. I basically was just wondering about reasons why people do or do not bank on-line.Spiritual:

I also bank online for all the positive reasons you mentioned in your message. It's so easy to keep track of your balance because all the information is at your fingertips.

Yes, I do. I enjoy having the information & ability to pay at my fingertips! Well except when the internet is down of course...
One advantage is being able to make multiple payments on the same accounts, if you pay your bills online. A disadvantage is not being able to do anything if you lose service, either internet or electricity."Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." John Lennon

I love online Banking, its quick and simple, I can check my balance and know exactly when something has gone in our out that day so I know down to the penny what is in the account. I can pay my bills online through the bank and it comes out straight away so i dont think i have more in than i should.
I can top up my phone through the site saving 10% on if i did it at a shop.
The only disadvantages i see are that i cant get to it if the net is down, this hardly ever happens though, its not really a disadvantage though as if that happens I can use the more traditional methods

I LOVE online banking! In fact, my main bank is online only. I'm not too worried about security because I check my account several times a day-so I'll notice if something is missing!

I love my online banking. The bank I use has a free feature that allows me to label my transactions and then will create an expense report for me.
I check balances several times a day and just started using online bill-pay. I love it!!McD

I keep track this way better. I also love to pay on line as much as possible to save stamps the paper etc. It is the best thing I have done to keep better track of my money.

If you live in a remote area with difficult access to your bank, an area prone to severe winters where you can't easily get to the bank... you may have no choice and have to do your banking online.
I'll tell you what I know about it.. all the people I know who have gone paperless and do all banking, bill paying online, have had problems with identity theft.
I do NO ONLINE banking, bill paying and I have never had a problem with it.
I can keep offline though because my bank is a few blocks from me and right next to the grocery store so its very easy acess.
For those with no choice you will just have to do online banking.

I love it. I check it daily so I would notice right away if info was not right. I love convience of switching money from accounts, paying little bits on credit cards, or comparing things without calling bank or going there.
