    I sent the c.c company ( the only one we owe) a check for $5,200. Yes we still owe more and the stimulus check will go to it to but it is now over 1/3 paid off!!!!

    When I was working on becoming debt free, I recall making major payments to my house loans principal... a few times sening in major checks of 10,000-15,000 and then feeling scared I wouldnt be able to finish paying it off as planned and all my extra money would be tied up
    but
    it worked out.
    I know it feels kinda sick to have to write checks for that much money but to keep on a goal people can and often do make it.
    It was a wonderful day in my life to pay off my house. I was working hard and making so many sacrifices to do it and do it quickly....
    dont lose sight of the goal.

    Kudos to you! I've been pretty routinely paying an extra few hundred every month, and have seen the effect on my total monthly interest charges! That means more of what I pay is actually reducing my debt too. Doesn't it feel great?
