    Talking The refunds are coming...

This morning I checked our bank account and there was a big fat refund from the state!

Our almost $10K one is supposed to go in on Friday (at the latest next Tuesday).

And we are caught up on all utilitlies and the car payment. Dh's student loan is still behind, but we made a month's payment just to keep them happy until we can catch up. We are having a yard sale on Friday and Saturday--I have 7 totes of clothes, plus tons of other things (a few toys and books, household items, a stroller, a bassinet, etc.) I just want to make enough to get little man his high chair and whatever else we make is going either towards bills or buying summer clothes and shoes for the kids.

In the next couple of weeks, we'll start seeing some paid off accounts!!!!! The car will be paid off six months early, and we will be down to what's left of dh's student loan plus the mortgage after all is said and done.

It's nice to be on the road to freedom

Last night we sat down and did some number-crunching and bill-paying. We were able to pay the car payment early, get dh's student loan current, and get our Sam's and WalMart accts paid on time. We are going to fully stock the envelopes for the grocery, gas, and church for the rest of the month when I go to the bank tomorrow.

So I guess we are caught up on the bills!

Hopefully our federal refund comes in on Friday and we can start knocking out some debt for good...

We are having a big yard sale Friday and Saturday, which I HOPE does well and brings in some extra $. Dh is getting the permit for that today (I didn't know you had to get a permit for a yard sale!) and a few signs to put up so we can make people aware of it. We live smack dab between two elementary schools (one public, one Catholic)--which we hope will get us some traffic when people come to pick up their kids on Friday. We are in a great location--on the corner of a more-travelled street in Fort Smith.

Checked out the IRS website and our refund is scheduled to be put in on Friday...even after witholding what we owe from last year (still), it's over $9800!

I am still in the process of cashing out my life insurance (over $2000) and we still have the $2400 from the stimulus rebate coming to us next month.

So...we'll have Baby Step #1 done and a good amount of #2 done after all this money comes in. It's such a good feeling. Between cancelling our storage unit and getting most of our debt knocked down, we will have over $500/month to throw at dh's student loan!
