Default question about the rebate and the notice

ok a couple of weeks ago we got the little post cards about the rebate..but we got 2 one with my madien name and one with me and my husbands name (still my maiden as well) im wondering if for some accidental reason i might get 2?? i havent changed my name since getting married but we did file together but it was the first time we have filed together since we got married a few years back

what do you think? anyone else get 2 notices?

we got 3. I think its typical government waste? I got one, my dh got one and our oldest dd got one. As far as we understood, she doesn't even qualify for a rebate since she is a dependant of ours. We wont get the 300 for her or my son because they are too old. (I read somewhere that they have to be 16 or under in order to get a credit -I hope I'm wrong on that)

I don't think they qualify either. Something on the notice they sent made it sould like neither of us gets a credit. If you are claimed as a dependant you don't get one, and if we claimed them and they are over 16 we don't get one. Guess we'll know soon enough.

My husband and I didn't get anything period. My brother got a notice even though he gets nothing as he was claimed as a dependant on my mother's taxes.

Speaking of government duplicates, my husband got three identical "Welcome to America" notices from USCIS after his IR-1 visa was activated. Computers are great things, eh? :p

Okay..So now I am nervous I didn't get ANY notice?? We are in the First Batch going out (5/2..maybe earlier since we had our taxes done and pending BEFORE the IRS accepted them..1/3/08) My husband lost his job last week..and I am counting my chickens before they hatch, but thanks to the advice of Dave Ramsey..we DO have an EF in place!!! But, I am depending on this to carry us forward for the time being, until DH can find another job..but this threw a wrench in my plans..I am a CONSTANT worry wart...A Chicken Little of sorts! I'll let y'all know if the sky is falling on Saturday 5/3!!

I read today that some of the checks may go out earlier than expected. I think they will start going out monday.

We got the notice at the beginning of the month.
Didn't really tell us much. We might qualify, we
be notified of how much we'll get. We'll just wait
    and see what happens.

Actually the first direct deposits will start Monday. Checks will not be mailed until all the direct deposits are sent.
