Default Do you ever wonder if those chain letters ever work?

Yesterday, I received mail from DD2's college. Figuring it was a bill, I almost didn't open it.

In the envelope was a suspicious looking item. Could it be a bill? or a check?
It was an automated thing, much like what a paycheck looks like - or a rebate check. You have to tear off three sides.

Reluctantly... I tore it off "Let's see.... how much to I owe now?"

I scanned the letter - yadda yadda... financial aid.... uh huh.. yep... whatever... just give me the bottom line... Whoa!!!! a rebate check for $2171!

    Holy smokes!
I looked up... I looked around... did anyone ELSE see this?
    I read the letter carefully.

DD2 qualified for some grants that I did not know about and so I paid the tuition bill, not realizing the balance was to be paid by the grants.

    This is like found money!

Just like the chain letter said!! LOL

Don't you just love it when unexpected money comes in the mail!!!! It's a good thing you decided to open it rather than trash it! Goes to show you should always open everything...
