One More Aldi's Question...
I see they don't accept credit cards or checks. Now I never know how much I willl spend if I can't preshop online (Shoprite I preshop onilne prices and all so I know the total). Now I'm paranoid about not having enough money on me and overspending and I always screw it up when I try using a calculator. Does the store accept bank cards? you know the visa debit card that you can either use as a visa credit card or debit card. It says they accept cards iwth pins so I'm assuming they will accept this since I can pick the debit option and use my pin?
Thanks!

They do accept debit cards. That's how I shop there. I don't carry cash.

I was so happy when they started taking bank cards a few years ago! Although, I noticed, when I only had x amount of cash on hand, I was more careful not to go over my budget!

I'm a cash-only person for grocery purchases - Aldi and all stores - although I have a debit card I could also use, I don't. I never use credit cards.
I shop with a list and a calculator to keep track of the amount being spent because I have a strict budget I adhear to. After you've done this for awhile, it becomes second nature and you have a sixth sense of how much your purchases are adding up to.
The first way to save on groceries is to limit the budget to begin with, and keep within that budgeted amount. For people who never know where there money goes, a budget is a good way to bridle their bucks. It's also been proven that people who use a credit/debit card spend more than those who have to fork over the money.
Grocery money is for groceries ONLY. That way I don't go home with bags filled with non-grocery items, which often tend to be impulse purchases (a magazine you started to read while standing at the check out) and often non-essential items.
I rarely spend the entire budgeted amount, so I usually have a cushion of cash in my Price Book I carry with me (which is where I keep my grocery money, coupons, list, inventory, etc.).
As the extra money accumulates, I'll purchase things I buy in large quantities once or twice a year (grain/beans/seeds, whey-based milk substitute, etc.), grass-fed beef and bison for the freezer, or use it for stock-up bargains. But I always keep within my budgeted amount.
