The renovation of the bathrooms is finished. (pictures!)
So after a week and a half straight, we finished both the half bathroom on the main level and the master bathroom on the second level.
The half bathroom was a complete gut job. We removed everything except for the plywood below the subfloor (because it was in good shape) and the walls. The master bathroom was a removal of the walls surrounding the tub, the flooring down to the plywood below the subfloor, and the toilet and vanity.
We learned a few things during this renovation period:
1) Nothing is ever easy. Ever.
2) Your initial plans may not go as planned.
3) The end result is fantastic.
We had originally set out to budget for about $5k in work. Luckily for us, it cost about half of that. None of it went on credit, which was awesome.
The result?
Here are the pictures. These also include the fence, but you can bypass those.

I'd say that it took us about eight days instead of a week and a half. The fence is next to be painted, but the bathrooms are finished.

Lots of work! Looks great.
What is the paint colour in the half bath? I'm looking for something similar.

Yep. We used TrafficMaster Biege Slate Peel and Stick Vinyl. It's at least three times thicker than your normal peel and stick tile (which also makes it almost three times more expensive). But this stuff is great.
Thanks.
We used something called Polar Drift (it's from Behr). It's part of their Premium Plus Ultra All In One series.

Did you find the all in one better? I used some and didn't find it stuck as well as primer, but I was on a surface which really needed priming. Also, the smell was a little crazy. But for painting on regular walls was the coverage as good as they claim?

Yeah I sort of noticed the stick factor was a little less than desirable on unprimed walls. As far as covering walls that had primer on them already, it did fine. I do have to go in and do touchups to the shower area because I found that masking tape will remove it pretty easily.
It's not bad if you're painting to sell your house. But I'm not sure if I want it for the next house.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Impressive. Love that you were able to come in less than 50% under budget. Did you use a contractor for this project at all?
