Smile Rewiring from generator to MIL's

So a couple months ago, we had a leaky well. In the process of digging it up, poor DH ripped out the wire going from generator (outside our garage, next door) to MIL's house. Now, we had snow on the ground yesterday morning. And more is expected today. DH rented a Ditch Witch for the day yesterday (like a giant chain saw attached to a push cart). Oh, and of course right now, there are about 10 cord of wood in the path of the ideal straight line the wire should take. What a nightmare. . . So far, there is a ditch dug between our house and MIL's, and 2 1/2 inch pipe had been laid in it Ground tape (a red wide plastic printed tape) has been located to go into ditch this morning- halfway up the filling in, to warn others there is an electric line under it. But DH needs to run wire, make and wire two transfer boxes, drill holes into the different houses, oh, and add a line to the garage, so the chickens will have light. Busy day for him. (I'll be the one taking photos . . .)

Hope he's gluing that 2 1/2 pipe properly.

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Sorry about the bad weather for the project. I hope he's able to finish it with no problems.

DH's so clever - he rigged up a pulley to help pull the wire through the pipe. (I think he's done this about a thousand times . . .) So, it's Sunday late, wire's through, had just enough (six wires total), ditch has been filled in, MIL's covered 'garage' space back to normal, the box-thingies that bring wire into the houses are insulated, and covered. But nothing is hooked up . . . a slow process.

We also insulated our outdoor wood furnace. Or, rather, I did. We had to change out the older model for this "energy efficient" one.
