    Question Who fixes your car(s)?

DH, friend, mechanic, do you bring to a dealer?

We either have my FIL fix it or bring it to a dealer (friend of my FIL's).

We usually have to go to a mechanic. Dh is a busy man and normally can't find time to work on my car.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

My dh does most repairs, but leaves major repairs to our mechanic.

Dh does all minor stuff, we have a friend that is a mechanic 6 houses up from us, he just fixed dh's brakes. Major things go to the dealer on my car.

I can change tires and change the oil and have changed spark plugs before but my dh does the majority of the work on our car.

DH and SIL are both very good with cars. I do take my van to the dealer tho for oil changes etc. The newer vehicals have a lot of computer based parts that DH feels should be dealt with by the dealer.

The repairs we've had to have (valves andMAP sensor) required a mechanic but hubby will change the oil.

I'm lucky to have an all-purpse dh. He can fix almost anything including whatever mighnt need to be done on one of our vehicles. He makes quite a bit of extra money during the warmer weather fixing other peoples cars. He's also very good at plumming and running electricity!

I do most minor repairs ( even changing radiators, replacing brake shoes and such) but for more detailed things my exFIL/exhubby comes over and helps me. I say helps ME cause my Dh is not mechanically inclined at all! LOL Ex-FIL usually tells me what I need to do, lossens things I cant etc and just watches
