    Talking I did it!!!!

Well we have my inlaws old dining room set. When the set was bought 30 years ago it was good quality.
After 30 years, 3 kids and 4 grandkids, it is in need of repair.
Well there is one chair that my fil tried to repair. The leg was dangerously wobbly. He screwed it in! That doesn't really bug me since the whole set is going to be refinished as soon as I get around to it.
Well the leg was so bad it leaned under the chair and no one could sit in it! well no more!!!
I fix it! I took out fils screws removed the leg, put wood glue in the peg hole and replaced the peg (it turned out from my investigation the loose peg was apparently the cause of the wobble!) I coated the peg, and the area where the leg met the chair with wood glue, it dries clear so it won't look bad. Then I rescrewed the leg back on, making sure to put the screw in deep enough to where when i refinish it i can putty it up and restain it.
Now the chair is firm to sit in, no more wobble! it is now safe to let company sit in it!
It is now my desk chair, since my office area is open with the diningroom it will be easy to move it in there if needed.
I have been wanting to do this for a year, but i was afraid to mess it up! Well I have decided i need to let loose of some of my fear, I mean whats the worse that could have happened, we would not be able to use the chair. Well we weren't using it anyway! Now we can!
    AH the feel of victory!

Good for you! That's awesome. Sometimes you just have to jump in and try doing something without fear or apprehensions.
