Thumbs down This plastering is really getting the better of me or should I say...

The sanding and dust is. We used wet spongest to sand down the drywall (plastering) but we still needs to do some sanding. The dust is everywhere. Its almost impossible to clean up and is rather annoying.

We now got a special paint to just cover over our mistakes so we don't have to do so much sanding. When it comes to our living room and kitchen though, I think I'll rent a hotel!!!

It's going to be so nice when it's all done, keep your eyes on the prize. I'd move out for the rest of the sanding too, lol. Hope the dust settles soon.

I know how you feel. I've got the same problem with my bedroom walls. I'm thinking of turning on the shop vac while I sand so it can suck up the dust out of the air.

I have an old air cleaner/purifier that might work well in this case, too.

My bedroom walls were ruined by someone who tore off wallpaper and didn't get off all the paste then painted over the whole mess.

I don't like wallpaper because of this but I've heard it's not as bad as it used to be.

Wallpaper is easy to take off HAS LONG AS YOU HAVE primer or paint on the wall BEFORE you wallpaper.

I don't think we'll ever get the sheet rock dust out of this place. We did hook up the shop vac to the orbital sander and that helped.

Hang in there!! When we sand I just try to keep doors closed/blankets across doorways, and I don't bother cleaning till I'm done!!
Remember to wear masks though, so you don't get all that dust in your lungs.
It will be all worth it when it's done.
