    Default My Loss Leader deals

Today I hit the stores for their loss leaders.

First I went to Kinney's (regional drug store). I was going to get their herbal essenses shampoo that was on sale BOGO. I had a coupon for $3 off two. I would have gotten two for 99c...only the darned coupon expired two days ago

Then I went to P&C. They had a deal on Arnold whole grain breads BOGO and I had a coupon that when doubled would have made the bread $2.79 for two loaves. They were COMPLETELY out. Not even a price tag on the shelf telling me where it would have been. I found that to be true with almost everything. But I did get:

Suave 22.5oz family size Shampoo on sale 99c - pd 49c after coupon
Suave 22.5oz family size Conditional on sale 99c - pd 49c after coupon
2 bags store brand preztel stix for $1.98
1 bottle Pantene spray for red hair on clearance for $2.84 (from $6.99)

At Price Chopper I did a little better.

4 boxes (14oz) Cheerios, on sale $1.99 - pd $1.49 after coupons (not great)
Purex 2x (32 load bottle) on sale for $2.99 - pd $1.99 after coupon
3 tubes of Colgate toothpaste marked down to 99c and 87c - FREE after coupons

    Walgreens:
Irish Spring body wash, regular $3.99 - pd $1.49 after store and manuf. coupons
    4pk lightbulbs (free after rebate)
3 Oral B CrossAction toothbrushes marked down to $1.12 each - one will be free after rebate, pd 12c for one after coupon, and $1.12 for the third
3 light up toothbrushes 74c each (lightening bug flashes for as long as the child is supposed to brush)
2 boxes (10ct) strawberry flavored sip straws marked down to 50c/box... FREE after coupon
2 Lady's Speedstick deodorants regular $2.79, pd 49c each after store coupon and manuf coupon

Then I went to the Dollar Tree and got a bunch of party stuff for dd's 16th birthday party...Luau stuff

You did good! I have noticed most of the time stores will take a recently expired coupon, no problem. So couldn't hurt to try next time.

I actually got some good ones last week when they had baby carrots #1 for 99c, Breyer's Ice Cream pints 10/$10, eggs 99c/dozen, Kleenex 48c/box, Chex Mix 10/$10, Food Club pop tarts 10/$10, furnace filters 99c each, and hamburger helper 10/$10. After the sales and coupons I spent $39 and saved $45

I'll have to see if our Kinney's will do that. Not my Walgreens, though. They are the coupon Gestapo

WTG! I looked for Walgreen's bottled water for which I had a coupon, and they were sold out!!!

I normally refill bottles, but my students are giving living history tours at a local museum, and I wanted to have water for them. Would have been a good deal...Oh, well.

When your stores are out, make sure to ask for rain checks - then you can still get a great deal later!!!

    Default savings

We don't have a Walgreens', but I just found out Dollar General accepts coupons. I got a free tube of Crest (99c minus $1. coupon), two bottles of Palmolive dish detergent (2 @ 89c apiece minus $1. coupon, so 39c each) last week. It takes so little to make us happy.
