    Default Aldi deals

I just seem to do better at Aldi overall in my shopping compared with the coupons available here in my area. Today, I went to Aldi and found a bunch of meat had been marked down. Since meat is usually my most expensive grocery item, I looked it over very carefully. I got three packs of stew beef for $2.30 each, 4 Honeysuckle White turkey breast marinated in dijon mustard and teriyaki for $2.49 each, two packs of center cut pork chops for $2.00 each and a huge corned beef brisket for $3.50! We have tried all of these items before, so I ,know we like them. I had a little extra money so I stocked up! And by the way, the expiration dates were well into next week.

Just wanted to share my buys!

The Aldi's closet to me closed I too generally do better without coupons because they're usually for things I normally don't use. And often, even with the discount, the products they're pushing are still more expensive than the store brand or what I normally purchase.

I still spent $117, but got a lot of stuff. I do try to match coupons with sales when I can. Gotta love the free stuff or next to free! And, I find that when things are going great for us, I do spend more at the other markets and not bother to go to Aldi. Sometimes it just seems too time consuming. But, with hubby off work, we gotta save where we can!

Aldi's was the only place we shopped this week. No one had good sales this week. We ended up spending almost $80 but that included $18 for a Dora trike for dd's bday in August and Dora travel crayons and coloring book for $5. So, all in all we stayed under the budget by $4. I'm trying to keep under $60 a week for a few weeks. Trying to save more towards the house. Some of the stuff was stockpiling (2 5lb bags of flour for 1.69, 5 lbs sugar, chocolate chips, vanilla - because it was $2 cheaper here than most stores - and of course 3 loaves of bread for 75 cents each and 3 gallons of skim milk at 2.45 each. I'm so happy milk prices are starting to come down.
