    Default Walgreen's Register Rewards Question

If you buy something that generates a RR, and you pay for it with RR ~ do you still get them?

Today, I bought 4 boxes of Nutrigrain bars for $10. The ad said "receive $5 RR. Like paying $5/4"

Well, it spit out two $5 RR (yay me!). My next transaction was to buy 5 boxes of poptarts for $10 (it was the same deal as the Nutrigrain bars). I used my RR to pay and I wasn't given any RR in return. The clerk said it was because I used my other RR's to pay for it.

    I didn't think that mattered.....does it?

Someone told me that if you use RRs to pay, then you don't get any RRs back. I think that's lame. CVS doesn't do that!

You can pay for an item with RR and get RR back under certain circumstances.

For example, if you buy Cokes and get RR you can then use your Coke RR to pay for your Kellogg's deal and still get the Kellogg's RR. Since it is a different deal. The three different Kellogg's deals say "limit one per customer". When the register sees that you are paying with RR that were earned by the same deal you are buying again it won't give you any. But if you use the RR from the Kellogg's deal to buy something else that earns RR, then you will get your RR at check-out.

I use my RR that I received for something last week to pay a portion of two of the Kellogg's deals and got the RR ($10 worth) I was due.

I hope that made some sense and helps.

Ok...that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying that. I thought I had used RR to pay before and still got RR back, now I know why.
